SFE has proven capabilities in welding advanced Materials of Construction (MOC) including Stainless Steel (304, 316, etc.), Duplex, Super Duplex, Titanium, and Jacketed systems. To preserve material properties and guarantee joint longevity, we execute strict specialized pre- and post-welding activities.

  • Purging Protocols: For exotic materials like Stainless Steel and Titanium, we implement rigorous internal argon purging to prevent root oxidation during welding.
  • Pickling & Passivation: Post-weld chemical cleaning via pickling and passivation is performed on all stainless steel and corrosion-resistant alloys. This removes welding oxides and restores the chromium-rich passive layer, guaranteeing maximum corrosion resistance.
  • Preheating & Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) / Stress Relieving: For heavy-wall carbon steels, alloy steels, and specific code-mandated applications (such as IBR high-pressure steam lines), we perform controlled preheating and localized or furnace-based stress relieving. This alleviates residual welding stresses and prevents hydrogen cracking.
  • Contamination Control: We maintain dedicated fabrication areas and specialized tooling for stainless steel and exotic alloys to prevent cross-contamination from carbon steel carbon dust.
